What are the best schools for studying abroad in Australia?

I live in the U.S and would like to do a semester abroad in Australia. I go to a small liberal arts college now so I am kind of hesitant about going to a big uni. I am majoring in Psychology and Fine Art and so far I have been looking mostly at James Cook University in Cairns, Bond University in Gold Coast, and University of Notre Dame Australia in Fermantle. I am looking for a school with a close student community and a good nightlife. I love the outdoors, hiking, camping, cycling, water sports, and of course the ocean!

Studying in Australia will probably one of the best career moves you’ll ever do. Australian degrees are highly recognised all around the world.

At almost every uni in Australia there will always be some kind of sporting facility and groups and most (if not all) our universities are all close to the coast/large rivers so you’ll be able to commit to your water sports etc.

Bond University is a private university. It is extremely expensive, most people need scholarships to be able to afford the tution (unless your family is incredibly wealthy) but the good thing about it is that your degree is completed a lot earlier than public universities (possibly up to half a year ealier).

JCU is pretty good. But there are better.

UQ (University of Queensland) is an excellent university. They have three campus around Brisbane which host students who want to study Psychology. They also are known for their great sporting facilities. Another uni that is known for the arts and humanities is Griffith University.

UNSW (University of New South Wales) has a large psychology department.

Check them all out and potential scholarships before you make up your mind!

Hope this helps :)
