what treatments are there for a sports hernia?

i was told i have a sports hernia and i looked it up and the only treatment i can find for it is surgery =[ i have a doctors appt on the 16th and i’m sure i’ll find out all the info about it then.. but thats a long time away. does anyone know any home remedies? or if you’ve had this can you tell me your experience with it?
