A Football Question Carling Cup?

Ive Just Finished watching sky sports news, chelsea 3-4 newcastle. seing though we onyl had ferrera, alex, anelka on the field in second half, i want a opinion on whther it looked chelsea took it seriosuly, looking at the lineup for arsenal, liverpoool, man utd etc. they looked like they put thier full squad out . should chelsea fans be sort of happy with that result due to the squad they put out .?
fair enuf , the others though , look as if this cup is important to them ..
