Sports Wristbands for Basketball and More

Basketball is a pretty physical sport, but don’t let it fool you. Basketball is more of a mental game than it is a physical. You could be the shortest basketball player and still dunk or the tallest one and not be able to make jump shots. That is why it is, as most sports, a mental game. The slightest distraction could have a massive effect on your game which will result in an error or mistake that came out of nowhere.

Most people who play basketball have so much determination that they don’t prepare for these “slip-ups”. There not really that important until they happen near the end of the fourth quarter, than they are a HUGE deal. One of the causes of slip ups is sweat. When we play sports, we produce a lot of sweat – which is healthy because it’s your body’s way of cooling off. What’s not so pleasing is the fact that the sweat tends to make your hands slippery and eyes sting.

When your eyes are stinging and your hands are slippery you are more susceptible to have the ball slip out of your hands to early when shooting a shot, have the ball slip out of your hands while trying to catch a pass, lose vision, or my personal favorite – miss a slam dunk. Missing a slam dunk, talk about embarrassing.

Even though you might feel like Will Farrell from Semi-pro, you should always wear two wristbands (one on each arm) and a headband. It will increase your hand eye coordination, which will in turn boost your games efficiency. People usually ask if the headbands and wristbands feel weird when wearing them. The answer is usually after about 15 minutes you can’t even feel you have them on anymore. Even if wearing wristbands make a small positive difference in your game – than it is worth it.
